SPORTS UPDATEGame of inches goes to Allen
(Friday, November 28, 2008 8:33 PM CST)
IRVING n Allen was outgained by Odessa Permian Friday afternoon at Texas Stadium by a whopping 175 yards, but the game turned out to be decided by a matter of inches.
On a 4th-and-3, in Eagles territory with the Panthers trailing, 28-22, and less than two minutes to go, Permian and its sizable crowd hoped to work some Mojo magic. Panthers quarterback Trevor Adams completed a pass to Ryan Rumbaugh, his fifth reception of the game, despite getting run over by Allen senior Matt McBride on the throw.
