Connecting pieces of peace
We islanders started something last year that is uniquely our own - a Place of Peace Festival. As far as we know it was the first event of its kind in the country. It is becoming an annual affair marking the first week of December in the season of hope. This year, the dates are Dec. 1-5. If ever there was a year we needed peace in our hearts, it is this Christmas season. And if ever there was a place to find it, it is this beautiful island twixt a majestic ocean and a mystical marsh - two measures of nature that bespeak a reality greater than our pocket books.
