Michelle Obama

Here's what caught our eye on the Web this week:

Designers are furiously sketching ideas for Michelle Obama's inaugural gown. (Politico)

Although we've only had a small glimpse of the future first lady's impeccable taste, she's already getting a style book. (NY Post)

We're still confused by this whole Gwyneth Paltrow loves to eat thing. But her Thanksgiving recipes do look pretty yummy. (Goop)

We always knew Solange Knowles liked to play with nail polish, but never thought she was this obsessed. (Myspace)

Leighton Meester swaps her Chanel flats for Reeboks. Blair would be so pissed. (Red Carpet Fashion Awards)

Katie Holmes is supposedly set to star in the next Miu Miu campaign. (NY Mag)

But we highly doubt Mrs. Cruise will look as sensuous as Rihanna does in Gucci's new commercial. (Just Jared)

If you can't afford to buy what celebs are selling, designer Vivienne Westwood shares her quirky recession tips. (Daily Express).

Kevyn Aucoin The Precision Brow

How do you apply makeup to over-plucked eyebrows without looking like Groucho Marx?
—Bette, Nyack, New York

Style Spy Says: Berry

The key lies not in your preferred formula—pencil, powder, gel—but rather in the color you choose. Overly dark brows can make anyone look like Norma Desmond, so beware.

Brooke Shields, Stella McCartney, Zoe Saldana

First came boyfriend jeans, then the boyfriend shirt, and now, fashionistas are suiting up in tuxedos.

Mystyle Style Class: Cutting Edge

Ashley Olsen donned the masculine chic ensemble back in June at the CFDA Fashion Awards. But it wasn't until we saw Stella McCartney's innovative jumpsuit version, Zoe Saldana's sultry interpretation and Brooke Shield's unexpected velvet number that we fell in love with the very modern look. A tailored tux with a great pair of pumps is both empowering and sassy.

Madonna

Is Madonna dressing under the influence?

Madonna's divorce is really turning her into a monster! Okay, not really. But get a load of her Louis Vuitton feathered mini. It makes her look like a swamp beast! Plus, the Material Girl's thick bangles, metallic belt and gladiator pumps weigh down the look. Next time, leave the theatrics on stage, Madge.

Pros: Super easy to use!
Cons: My skin felt tighter, but it didn't make my wrinkles less noticeable. It also didn't feel hydrating enough.

Watch Tyra Banks in the season finale of America's Next Top Model. Then rate her look.

I love Tyra, but her space-age dress last night was totally wacko, even for her. And what about that Coneheads updo?

But my biggest problem with her finale frock is that it reminded me of Beyoncé. B.'s new alter ego, Sasha Fierce, has been ripping off Tyra's look, and even her language—after all, Tyra's been saying "fierce" for years.

But if we want to give props to the original space cadet, that would be Miss Janet Jackson. Now, she's the true trendsetter.

How would you rate Tyra's look last night? Vote now!

How would you rate it?

Elisha Cuthbert

Is Elisha Cuthbert dressing under the influence?

Elisha Cuthbert has made countless Sexiest Women of the Year lists, so this frumpy look is extra disappointing. We're not saying she has to go for extreme exposure like fellow sex kitten Megan Fox. In fact, Elisha's feathered knee-length skirt has great potential. It's just overshadowed by an extremely unflattering circa-2002 peasant top.

Anthropologie Gregarious Dress

What do you wear to a company holiday party? I want to look sexy, but not inappropriate.
—Ericka, Sherman Oaks, California

Style Spy Says: Berry

No, no you do not want to look sexy. I don't care how single-and-looking you are. I don't care if you work for Donatella Versace. Work parties and The Sexy do not mix. Ever. Save your urge to look sexy for the clubs, or the cocktail-party-slash-night-wedding, or New Year's Eve. For a work party—even a festive, champagne-fizzy holiday party—you want to look stylish, smart, future-forward. But not sexy. At a work party, sexy equals desperate. Leave it alone.

That isn't to say that your ensemble shouldn't whisper, "Look at me!"

Boots: Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Montag, Blake Lively

Mystyle Style Class: Cutting Edge

We're kinda over the studded belt, which was the accessory of choice last summer, thanks in part to the Sex and the City movie. Nowadays, we're channeling our inner rock diva with studded boots. The shoes' edgy embellishments give plain Jane outfits some oomph. Take our advice and invest in a high-heeled pair. Flat ones just don't have the same femme fatale feel.

To get the look, shop the steals 'n' splurges gallery below. But first, guess who's struttin' her stuff in studded boots? One is a Patriots-loving supermodel, another is a total Gossip Girl, and you can find the other hangin' in The Hills. Keep reading for the answer!
