For example, one of my major successes was winning a world championship in Chinese kung fu. Achieving this goal took great dedication, discipline, practice, planning and focus. It also required a high level of physical, mental and spiritual integration. I didn't just train physically and expect to win. Nor did I sit back in a chair and attract my championship through visualization alone. I used every tool available.
As a personal development and business coach, I've seen that although many people are good at setting goals - very few are good at achieving them. Part of the reason is due to lack of planning. Another reason is due to the unwillingness to focus on what you want, day in and day out, over a good stretch of time. Then there's the failure or mistake factor. If I get knocked down 1,000 times, I keep getting back up. I succeed by correcting my mistakes. Not by ignoring them or trying to avoid them. Surprisingly, most people who don't succeed have a habit of giving up the first time they fail or make a mistake.
